As we age, relaxation of the skin of the forehead causes the eyebrows to lower, which causes hooding to the upper eyelids. A brow lift, raises the brows to their naturally correct position giving a more balanced and youthful look to the eye area. Forehead lift on the other hand not only lifts the bows to natural position, it can also help the wrinkle lines which develop on the forehead, or frown lines between the brows. These procedure in general helps the patients to look more alert and sharp. A brow lift or foreheads can be done endoscopically or by coronal incision. The endoscopic brow lift procedure is less invasive and requires a set of very short incisions just behind the hairline. Using an endoscope, which is a thin cannula with a camera attached, which allows the surgeon to view and manipulate the muscles and underlying tissue to achieve your desired aesthetic goal. The endoscopic brow lift is the most common technique used for brow lift or forehead lift in our practice. The coronal brow lift is an extensive procedure, not often used, which involves making an incision which runs in the hairline from ear to ear. Excess skin and tissue is removed and the muscles and underlying tissue is manipulated to obtain your desired goal. A brow lift can be done alone or in combination with an upper and/or lower blepharoplasty, facelift, or other facial rejuvenation procedure. The results of brow lift can be appreciated almost immediately, revealing a smoother forehead and a more youthful and rested appearance. What can I expect after a brow lift procedure?
