Dr. Totonchi is board-certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He graduated from the Tabriz University of Medical Sciences at the top of his class. Since 2001, he has practiced medicine in Northeast Ohio, beginning with his plastic surgery residency at University Hospital and continuing with fellowships in facial cosmetic and pediatric craniofacial surgeries.
Dr. Totonchi joined MetroHealth Medical Center in 2010 as a Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He serves as the onsite Director of Plastic Surgery Residents at MetroHealth Hospital and the Medical Director of the multidisciplinary Craniofacial Disorders Clinic (CFD). He leads a highly trained team of professionals there, caring for children with facial disorders, such as cleft lip, cleft palate, and facial deformities. He is also one of the few plastic surgeons in the area who performs surgical treatment of migraine headaches. Dr. Totonchi is the President of the Migraine Surgery Society and has been named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Plastic Surgeons in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
