Plastic surgery is the new black! While it is considered to be a taboo years ago to have some nip and tuck, it’s a different story these days as women (and even men!) are now considering plastic surgery as a necessity — from Baby Boomer men in Wall Street seeking Botox to helping teens deal with bullying. Here at our Cleveland plastic surgery practice, we aim to help you make an informed decision before scheduling your breast augmentation, liposuction or perhaps, Botox.
For you to come up with an informed decision, we encourage you to ask questions during personal consultations with Dr. Totonchi. In addition, we also want you to ask yourself a couple of questions. After all, there’s no other person who can help you decide which procedure is best but yourself.
Am I doing this to improve myself or am I trying to please other people? Keep in mind that while the people around you could support your decision, you should not allow yourself to be pressured to have plastic surgery.
Am I realistic about my expectations of the outcome? You are not going to look like your favorite celebrity after the procedure but your appearance can be improved or enhanced.
Am I physically fit and mentally sound? It is best to disclose everything there is to know about your physical and mental health to your plastic surgeon before the procedure, including allergies and medications you’ve taken or currently taking.
Am I comfortable with my plastic surgeon and the rest of the staff who will take care of me during and after surgery? A successful outcome is most likely to happen if the surgeon of your choice understands your cosmetic goals and creates a surgical plan in parallel with your preferences.
Is this the perfect time to have the surgery? Deciding to have plastic surgery requires you to come up with a plan. You may have to take some time off from work or school during recovery. In addition, you may have to meet certain physical requirements before having surgery such as achieving weight that is within the ideal numbers for your body type pre-tummy tuck.
